HPV World Championship 2008 competitors will be racing for genuinely handsome prizes: hand-made pottery! Produced at MADE IN CLEY, a craft centre in Cley-next-the Sea, Norfolk, the range of pottery items are a departure from the usual plastic-and-tin trophy cups, and as well as being attractive, are useful for holding food, flowers, origami, or whatever.
The prizes are thanks to joint sponsorship by Mike Burrows and the British Human Power Club. As you can see in the photos, the pottery is custom-designed and hand-made. MADE IN CLEY are a small (eight, last look) group of craftspeople, and as well as pottery, they produce sculpture, jewellery, prints and photographs, and furniture. Their web site
http://www.madeincley.co.uk is lovely, and well worth a visit.
Samples of other finished pottery (not the prizes), to show patterns and glazes.
